Ms. Harris is ready to get cooking
New Home Ec. teacher comes to B-A from Williamsburg
Ms. Harris is officially taking over the Home Ec. position this week.
Bellwood-Antis recently hired a new Home Economics teacher, Ms. Valarie Harris.
Ms. Harris taught at Williamsburg for 10 years before applying at B-A. She said she loved it there, but it was not a full time job.
“I decided to move schools because it is right down the road and just like Williamsburg, a very small school,” said Ms. Harris.

Ms. Harris is very excited to be working at B-A.
“I love kids, cooking, and sewing so I felt this job was perfect for me,” said Ms. Harris.
She is very excited to start a new job and have a fresh start in her teaching career. She’s taking over for longtime Home Ec. teacher Mrs. Gail Reitz, who retired in June.
Ms. Harris graduated from Tyrone Area High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Syracuse Orange.
She also has an older brother and a twin sister, and all of them are public school teachers.
Ms. Harris lives in Tipton.
