Americans head to the polls on Tuesday.

Every four years, adults living in the United States have the opportunity to vote for the next leader of our country. 2016 just happens to be one of those years. The two people running for president in this election cycle are Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, and Republican nominee, Donald Trump. There are also candidates running on the Libertarian and Green Party tickets, one of them being Gary Johnson.

Hillary Clinton has been leading the polls for quite some time now, but Donald Trump has quickly caught up in recent days. Clinton only leads by a few points in many of the most current national polls, but everything could change by Election Day. Regardless, one of these individuals will be our nation’s next leader.

With Election Day right around the corner, we wanted to ask kids who they would vote for, if they were allowed to do so. Today, we randomly selected 15 BAMS students and asked them which candidate they wanted to be our president. Students were allowed to choose candidates from the Libertarian and Green Party as well.

If it were up to the students of BAMS, our country’s next president would be Donald Trump. Trump received almost half of the votes, with 7 out of the 15 cast. Hillary Clinton had almost half of Trump’s votes, at 4 out of 15. Gary Johnson had the same results as Clinton, with 4 out of 15. Jill Stein, however, had no votes.

Seventh grader Malyki Johnson stated, “Trump should be the next president because Hillary Clinton is going to take away things people want.”

Will the results at B-A be the same ones that we see next Tuesday? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see!
