Senior Jarrett Taneyhill has been a significant member of the Bellwood-Antis boys track team for almost two years. He placed fourth at the Igloo Invitational last Saturday, throwing 159-9.

For his efforts he has been chosen as the BluePrint’s Athlete of the Week.

It is pretty cool to be recognized in in more than one sport because practice goes into every season.

Taneyhill has been recognized as the BluePrint’s Athlete of the Week two times this school year.

“It is pretty cool to be recognized in in more than one sport because practice goes into every season,” said Jarrett.

After two years of being on the varsity baseball team, Jarrett decided he wanted to try something new and he chose track and field as a junior.

After only being on the team for a short amount of time, Jarrett soon started to make his mark, working hard to make sure he keeps improving.

“Coach Burch works with me every day,” said Jarrett.

As far as his favorite thing about track and field, Jarrett likes the dynamics of the sport.

“I like how it is both an individual and team sport,” he said.

When it comes to goals, Jarrett has some reasonable expectations.

“I would like to go to states,” he said.

Jarrett will be continuing his career in track and field after high school. He has committed to throwing javelin at Lehigh University.
