On Wednesday, February 15, Myers held an assembly for International Childhood Cancer Awareness Week. Each grade was able to earn points during class contests, and the winning classes were able to prank their teachers on stage. At the height of the event, fourth grade teacher Ms. Tommie Murray had 12 inches of her hair cut off to be donated to make wigs for children with cancer. B-A students Maddie Shura, who is in second grade, and Alexis Kensinger, a senior, were both on hand. Both young ladies have been diagnosed with cancer, and both are fast friends.
