Pitcher Haley Schmidt was the winning pitcher with  9 strikeouts as the Blue Devils softball team squeaked past Moshannon Valley yesterday at home, 3-2.

Schmidt, a freshman, also had a double, while teammate Jestelynn Heaton had two hits.

Myranda Mamat and Kaitlyn Knisely drove in runs for B-A, which went up 2-0 in the second.

It was a nail bitter the whole way and an all round great win for Bellwood-Antis.

The Devils are on a roll, winning their fifth straight under the coaching of Coach Jim Payne. The team had a rocky start at 0-4, but is making a great comeback, beating teams left and right. B-A is looking good for a winning record going into the playoffs.

The Devils  look to get their streak to six with a win against Mount Union at home.
