Phoebe explains her college decision.

Senior Phoebe Potter has juggled sports, with grades and social life in an impeccable way. She discovered her love for fashion at a very young age and has finally decided to pursue it as a career. Potter will be attending The Art Institute of Philadelphia.

The Blueprint: How many colleges did you apply to?

Potter: Four.

The Blueprint: What made you apply to The Art Institute of Philadelphia?

Potter: When I didn’t get into F.I.T. I was crushed and I didn’t really know where else to apply or what other schools I could go to. I talked to Mrs. Adams about this and she helped me look up art schools in Pennsylvania that offer a Fashion Design major. I saw the Art Institute and went to their website and just started to put in my information. I was then contacted by an admissions officer who has helped me throughout the process to get it.

The Blueprint: What are you planning on majoring in?

Potter: Bachelor of Science – Fashion Design.

The Blueprint: What made you chose this specific major?

Potter: I chose fashion designing specifically because I want to be responsible for providing people with an outlet for their own personal expression.

The Blueprint: What job will you pursue?

Potter: My absolute dream would be to launch my own high-end fashion label like Oscar De La Renta or Elie Saab but at first I would like to get my foot in the door by working with established brands like Reese Witherspoon’s Draper James.

The Blueprint: Will you continue to play volleyball.

Potter: The Art Institute does not offer athletic programs but I would love to join a club team or just play as often as I can.

The Blueprint: What do you expect from the everyday social life at The Art Institute of Philadelphia?

Potter: I would expect it to be very cultured and open.
