Parents were notified early this morning about a video posted on social media of an air soft gun on a Bellwood-Antis secondary school bus dparting from the school yesterday.

The call came after 6:30 a.m.

“We knew it was viewed by people on social media. We were concerned that many people would be concerned with the safety of their children at school. We thought it would be better to over-communicate to parents to alleviate their concerns,” said high school principal Mr. Richard Schreier.

Mr. Schreier found out about the video at 10:30 last night from the Pennsylvania State Police. A parent had called  and reported the video last night. Mr. Schreier then called the superintendent, Dr. Tom McInroy, at 5:30 this morning to notify him of his intention to use the message system to notify parents.

Mr. Schreier said the District was trying to be proactive.

State Police are still investigating this incident.

According to We Are Central PA, the suspect and the student who was allegedly told are facing charges.
