The Bellwood-Antis girls’ volleyball team won last night over Claysburg-Kimmel in a 5-set battle 3-2.

The girls started off strong, winning the first two sets 25-20 and 25-17. The girls fell in the third set 12-25 and then again in the fourth 23-25. The girls won the pivotal final set 15-11.

Karlie Feathers and Hope Shook had a night, scoring a combined 30 service points. Feathers also had 7 aces. Helping out the team, Bella Kies and Sydney Lechner both had 10 service points each, and Jestelynn Heaton with 5.

Senior Jestelynn Heaton said, “They switched up their rotation to better stop our attack in the third and fourth set to make us go to five sets.”

Lechner was a varsity stat leader in assist with 31 and digs with 7. Sakeria Haralson was a dual stat leader as well with 13 kills and 10 blocks on the defensive side.

Heaton said, “Coming back and winning the fifth set after losing 2 proves that we wanted to win more than them and we wouldn’t give up.”

With the win over Claysburg the girls move on to a 3-1 record.
