Gene Yingling is retiring from B-A after 33 years.

While students are getting ready for summer, Chemistry teacher Gene Yingling is getting ready to retire.  Mr. Yingling has taught at Bellwood-Antis for 33 years, coaching several sports, mostly notably basketball for 17 years.

Mr. Yingling led the Blue Devils to a District 6 championship in 1996.

Mr. Yingling has many plans for retirement.

“I would like to travel a lot, as much as I can afford to. I will spending a lot of time at a lot of different beaches,” said Yingling. “I am excited to start a new chapter in my life, but I am a little sad to be leaving the career that I have had for my entire adult life.”

Mr. Yingling has had many memorable moments in his time at B-A. “There have been so many memorable moments that I can’t single out any particular ones.”

Mr. Yingling said what he really is going to miss here at Bellwood-Antis is the people.

“There are so many great people at this school. I will miss all of the people that I have worked with over the years,” he said. “I will be back for football and basketball games and other sporting events.”

One of the things Mr. Yingling is looking forward to is spending more time with his family.

“My children are all grown but I do have a grandson that I can spend a lot more time with. Of course, my wife and I will be able to do a lot more things together,” said Yingling

We will miss Mr. Yingling next year, knowing that he is one of the great teachers that have taught at Bellwood-Antis High School. Thank you, Mr. Yingling, for teaching all of these years.
