The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be kicking off the annual Cereal Drive to benefit the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry of Blair County.
This is a big week for B-A students as they start the process of bringing in cereal to their homeroom.
B-A’s FCA wants to break its record from mark year.
Mr. Nick Lovrich, the FCA advisor, said, “Mrs. Mary Kay O’Connor ran the cereal drive before. When she retired they were looking for another group to take over and that was FCA. It is a great way to help out our community and give back.”
In 2015, the FCA raised the most cereal boxes in FCA cereal drive history with 1,517 boxes of cereal. Ever since that year Bellwood has had the goal of reaching 1,000 boxes.
Mr. Lovrich said it would be great if B-A could get 1,000 boxes of cereal this year.
The boxes will remain in each of the student’s homerooms throughout the cereal drive.
The homeroom with the most cereal boxes at the end of the cereal drive will receive a pizza party.
