Last week, PAFootballNews.com released its All-Academic All-star teams, and there were 30 Bellwood-Antis football players who made the gold team.

B-A has always taken great pride in having great students and great athletes, and this is evidence that we really have our athletes as students first and then athletes.

— Coach Lovrich

Overall 51 players from Bellwood-Antis made either the gold, silver, or bronze teams.

To make the gold team, players must achieve a 4.0 GPA or higher.

Silver team members achieved a 3.9-3.5 GPA, while bronze members earned a 3.0-3.4.

“B-A has always taken great pride in having great students and great athletes, and this is evidence that we really have our athletes as students first and then athletes,” said Coach Nick Lovrich.

In order to make the All-Academic All-Star team you need to have certain standards for the first and second marking period and also play in four varsity football games.

“The players took care to the academic requirements themselves. The hard work and dedication that is required to do well in athletics is the same that is needed to excel in the classroom. We are just as proud of our players for their accomplishments in the classroom as we are on the playing field,” said Coach Lovrich.
