Teachers and students line the halls of Myers Elementary to wish three wrestlers good luck at the state championship.

Last month Dr. Harpster, Myers Elementary Principal, organized a send off for three of the elementary school wrestlers who qualified for the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling (PJW) State Championships, a tournament in Pittsburgh. The wrestlers who qualified were Carter Hardy, Bryson Hescox and Caleb Plummer. All three athletes have also qualified for the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Association (MAWA) regional tournament in York, PA on April 19, with a chance to go to the Salisbury, MD championship in May.

We had the time to talk to the three wrestlers and ask them about their experience. Here’s what we found out…

Question 1: How did you enjoy this experience?

Caleb: It was fun, but it took a lot of time and practice.

Carter: It was good.

Bryson: I liked just being there in general.

Question: Would you like to participate in this event again?

Caleb: Yeah.

Carter: No.

Bryson: Yes.

Question: Is there anything specific you would like to work on so you can improve your wrestling?

Caleb: I will work harder.

Carter: I will do my best.

Bryson: I will try to take down everybody I wrestle.

And there you have it… A shout out to our super awesome elementary wrestlers. As you can see, hard work always pays off so keep up what you’re doing! Good luck this weekend at your next tournament! Make us all B-A proud of you—again!
