Mr. Trexler enjoys decorating the media center for each holiday.

We recently talked Mr.Trexler and asked him about his life running the middle/high school media center. Here’s what he had to say about his fun job…

We first asked Mr. Trexler what is the most and least exciting part of your day. He replied with, “The best part of my day is when students successfully complete challenges.  My least favorite part of the day is 7th grade SSR.”

Next, we asked him how he comes up with the activities for the media center. He answered with, “I receive a yearly calendar of all the holidays and activities that are celebrated throughout the year and create challenges that coincide with those events.”

We also asked him if he wished he was still teaching sixth grade. He responded with, “At times. I miss relationships made with kids in the classroom and the structure of the classroom, but I love the media center because I get to use a lot of creativity.”

Lastly, we asked Mr. Trexler what is the hardest thing about running the media center. He said, “The hardest part is managing the large crowds of students when there is only one teacher.”

In conclusion, Mr. Trexler has a very fun job of designing challenges and using his creativity to decorate the media center. And because of that, it’s a pretty exciting place to hang out with friends and to learn!
