Six girls along with their escorts stood on the 50 yard line, awaiting the announcement. “This year’s 2014 Homecoming Queen is… Paige Padula!” played over the loud speaker during last Friday night’s game against Juniata Valley.

When asked about how she felt about being this year’s queen, Paige’s face lit up with a smile: “I feel very honored; it feels good that my peers voted for me. It was an awesome experience to be a part of the homecoming court with such great girls.”

Paige was excited about hearing her name, although looking up at everyone in the stands made her nervous. “Win or lose, I was happy for everyone,” she said.

“It was pretty sweet when I heard Paige’s name. I think I may have been more excited than her,” her escort, Tyler Shultz, said.

First runner up Meghan Claar, escorted by Adam Osborne, responded by saying she wasn’t all that nervous about the night; she was just worried about falling while walking on the soft soil of Memorial Field.

The BluePrint would like to congratulate Paige and Meghan and the rest of the Homecoming court: Kelly Leamer, Alayna Roberts, Hannah Cherry, and Anna Wolfe!
