Zach Mallon, a three-sport athlete at Bellwood-Antis, has been chosen as the BluePrint’s Junior Athlete of the Year.

Mallon plays football, basketball, and track, leading each of his team’s with his statistics and level of play.

Mallon has been playing football for 10 years. His positions are tailback, wide receiver, corner back, free safety, punter, and punt returner. He has been a two-year starter for the Blue Devils, and he said football is his favorite sport.

Last season Mallon ran for 1,136 yards and scored 20 total touchdowns to push B-A to an 11-1 season.

Basketball is Mallon’s winter sport, which he has also been playing for 10 years. He plays forward and has started for two years.

This past season, Mallon averaged 10.7 points and just over five rebounds per game to help the Devils forge a 12-12 record under new coach Pat Cassidy.

Finally, track is Mallon’s spring sport. He runs the 4×100 relay, long jump, triple jump, and high jump.

Mallon was looking to follow up a 2019 District placement in the long jump this year as he was close to his personal best from last year.
