Senior Isaac Mills is leading the boys cross country team this fall.

The athlete of the week this week is Isaac Mills.

Isaac is a 12th grader at Bellwood-Antis who is known for being a track star, although now he is tearing it up in cross country. The BluePrint had the chance to talk to Isaac about his love for running and how sad he is that this is his last year.

Q: When did you start running?

A: I started in 3rd grade.

Q: Which do you like more: track or cross country?

A: They both have pros and cons but if I had to pick one it would probably be cross country.

Q: What’s your best time for cross country?

A: My best time is 18:06

Q: What made you start running?

A: My brother wanted to start running with my dad, who ran for most of his life. And, I joined with him.

Q: What are you going to miss most about cross country and track when you leave?

A: I have made a lot of great friends I will miss, and some have already graduated. It seems like running for hours a week with people draws you close to them. I will miss all of the people I have grown close to over the years. Mr.Lovrich is a great coach, and man, I will miss his encouraging pep talks.
