Last Friday, the Blue Devil football team played against the Everett Warriors.  Even though it was in a torrential down pour, that didn’t stop B-A from beating Everett, allowing the Devils to improve to 4-2 and send the Warriors to their second loss.

In the first quarter of the game, Matt McMillan ran 8 yards for a touchdown, giving Bellwood-Antis a lead with a score of 7-0.

When the second quarter rolled around, quarterback Jake Burch threw a 24-yard pass to McMillan, giving him another score for B-A.

And again in the fourth quarter, McMillan ran 15 yards and another touchdown.

“It was a pretty important win because we hadn’t beaten anybody that was as good as Everett,” said McMillan.  “We played together as a team.”

Cameron Wood had 21 carries for 103 yards, Matt McMillan had 18 carries for 101 yards, and Kyler Lardieri had 5 carries in 32 yards.

“It was a good win for us because we finally finished a game against a good team,” said Wood.

McMillan said he felt the team would run more because of the weather conditions.

“I knew we would the ball more because it was so wet outside, so I figured I would get some more carries,” said McMillan, who had the first 100-yard game of his career.

This coming Friday, Bellwood-Antis goes away to play against Southern Huntingdon.  Come out and watch our boys play their hearts, rain or shine.
