During this past year a lot of people have hit struggling points in their lives, especially teenagers and young adults. Going into a pandemic has definitely thrown a lot of people off,, causing stress and anxiety for everyone. Between school constantly changing from online to hybrid to full time, it’s created confusion and not many people know how to deal with this, and that can often have detrimental effects. So, if you’re having a bad day talk to a friend, parent, or teacher and see if they could help you in any way. This often is a lot easier said than done, but in the long run this could really help you out.
Here are some ways to decompress and relieve stress, or anxiety, or whatever it may be you need help with:
Talk to someone you trust about your feelings and ask if they have tips to help you cope.
Go on a walk or run to clear your mind and take time to think.
Turn on some of your favorite music and listen and relax.
Go on a drive with someone or by yourself if you’re able to drive.
There are going be times where you get stressed about something, but you have to maintain a mind set where you can’t let it affect you, like with school, for example. School is over at 3 p.m. Once it’s out don’t, let what happen at school consume you. Mainly don’t try to dwell on something that isn’t worth your time. If you get home, do your homework then you have the rest of the night to yourself. If you let what other people/things do contradict how you feel then it’s only messing with your mindset. So, don’t let what people say let you feel a certain way.
