BA wrestling turns new leaf with win over Juniata Valley following loss to Tussey Mountain

Alex Taylor is one of several key letter winners returning for the Blue Devil wrestling team.

Tuesday night the Bellwood-Antis wrestling team took on the Tussey Mountain Titans at home for the season opener.  Bellwood ultimately lost 48-16.

Bellwood’s only points came from two forfeits, one from Aiden Taylor and one from Alex Taylor, and a major decision from Landon Bungo.

Bellwood struggled on the mat and multiple forfeits for The Titans didn’t do them any favors either.

Thursday night’s match proved to be a different outcome for the Blue Devils as they traveled to Juniata Valley. Coming off a season opening loss the Blue devils looked to bounce back in a big way, and they did, securing a 42-18 victory over the Hornets.

The Blue Devils got it done in typical Bellwood fashion with 5 of their 8 wrestlers winning by pin, and two winning by forfeit.

Tyler McCaulsky, Aiden Taylor, Landon Bungo, Xander Shank, and Aarron Laid all won by pin in Thursday’s match.

The Blue Devils next match will be on Tuesday when they host Southern Huntington.
