At Bellwood-Antis, Chorus is a fun way for students to express themselves in different ways, but what happens when you want to take it a step further.

Sophomore Daman Mills and Junior Sarah Berkowitz took it a step further and qualified for PMEA District 6 Chorus. Due to the limitations of COVID-19, Mills and Berkowitz came into the high school on January 29th to record their auditions to submit to PMEA.

All of the submissions sent to PMEA will be used to produce a digital ensemble and if these two singers make it to the top four in their section at regionals, they will advance to states.

For Districts, students sing a variety of tunes, many of which challenged them by not only pushing their vocal ranges and rhythms but their diction as well. The shows normally include songs in Latin, Hebrew, and German, and English as well.

Because of COVID-19, District Chorus is held at local schools due to the limitations that were made. This does not stop any of the students from auditioning for PMEA for their passion for singing.

For the audition the students submitted, the judges take the top four of each category to send to states.

Congratulations Daman and Sarah for making it into PMEA District 6 Chorus and good luck!
