3 Keys to Victory

In support of Blue Devil Nation and all athletes at Bellwood-Antis, the BluePrint presents its series 3 Keys, where Blue Devil athletes provides our readers inside access to the team’s game plan.  Tonight, the No. 5 seeded Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis soccer team plays No. 4 Huntingdon at Mansion Park in the first round of the District 6-AA playoffs.  This has been a heated rivalry over the years, and the Bearcats have won the two previous meetings this season, both in overtime.

Freshman Blake Johnston shared his team’s keys to victory, with extra commentary by senior Josh Wilson.

1. Contain their best player

Their offense is centered around one player, Kyler Miller, so we need to keep him off the board.

2. Move to open space

Mansion Park is a huge field so we have to use that space on offense to create chances and control the speed of the game.

3. More offensive production

Our team at times plays too conservative.  We’re going to have to take more risks on the offensive end.
