Last Friday, the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils beat Glendale with a score of 47-6. This brings B-A to 7-2.

In the first quarter, Matt McMillan had a 1-yard run, making the first touchdown of the game.

In the second quarter, McMillan had an 87-yard run, adding onto the score for the Blue Devils. After McMillan’s touchdown, Cameron Wood had a 35-yard run and Devin Burr had a 29-yard run to make it 27-6  at halftime.

“I’ve been averaging about 13 yards per carry so I’m trying to take advantage of my expanded playing time,” said Burr.

When the Blue Devils came back after halftime, Wood had a 28-yard touchdown run, 20-yard touchdown run, and a 16-yard scoring pass from Jake Burch adding 20 points onto the growing score.

“We need to work harder and take it game by game. When the playoffs start, it could be the last game that we play and that’s how we need to see it,” said Wood.

Wood had 12 carries for 169 yards and McMillan had 6 carries for 113 yards to lead a Bellwood rushing game that totaled 422 yards.

“It all starts up front. The running backs can be good, but it really all starts with the line. It depends on what they do, and we feed off of it,” said Wood.

This coming Friday the Blue Devils go up against winless Philipsburg-Osceola on Senior Night at 7:00 pm. Come out and watch B-A play at the Memorial Stadium, the last home game of the regular season for our seniors.
