On November 17 and 18, band members from Bellwood-Antis High School had the opportunity to attend Senior High County Band at Claysburg-Kimmel High School.  The guest director was Mike Bodolosky, a retired teacher from Richland who now teaches at UPJ.

There were 100 band members from all seven Blair County high schools.

The B-A students who attended were Sydney Hinkle and Amanda Baldwin on flute; Amanda Albright, Noah Maceno and Brande Robison on clarinet; Angela Young and Nick Perry in the percussion section; Katie Hamer on baritone sax; Sarah Knisely on oboe; and Matthew Perry on the trombone.

Young and Perry said they enjoyed county band.

“We liked getting to meet new people and seeing people we’ve seen in previous years,” said Nick.

Matt Perry said, “I liked the food.”

Bellwood-Antis band director Mr. Sachse said, “It’s a great change for the students, especially students from a smaller school, to get together and play harder music than they’ve ever played before.”
