GAME REVIEW: Five Nights at Freddys 2

In Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, we return to the infamous Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The newest game to come out and probably the scariest sequel to come out in a while. Scott Cawthon released the game and its demo on steam much earlier than its previous release date, which was supposed to be in 2015. The platforms are Microsoft Windows, iOS, and Android. This game features much more to it, and I enjoyed playing it. However, do not play this if you are afraid of jump scares and dark themes.

Unlike in the first game when you played as Mike, you play as Jeremy Fitzgerald.  It begins the game with a look through Freddy’s eyes, allowing you to glance at the fellow animatronics. There are many more objectives than in the first. You must wind a music box every so often, so not to wake a new animatronic. (Vaguely mentioned by the phone guy as a “Puppet”). There are two air vents that animatronics will climb through by your left and right side. You also have no doors to keep the animatronics away from you. So, in order to trick the animatronics’ facial recognition so they don’t kill you; you must wear a Freddy Fazbear head that they’ve provided you. And it works! Most of the time, anyway. Oh, and here’s the best part: They’ve updated the animatronics to be new and much more technologically advanced. Unlike in the first game, there are exactly 12 animatronics coming after you. Good luck.

This game is said to be a prequel, rather than a sequel. As there are much more animatronics than the first game, and they hint at the bite of ’87 (an event that was mentioned in the first game) is just about to happen near the end of the second game. In my opinion, this theory is one that seems to fit the theme. I would rate this game a 10/10, as it has much more action than the first game and much more plot to explain the story.
