Second grade teacher Mrs. Coleman reads to her class.
The week of March 2-6 is Read Across America week, which is being celebrated at Myers Elementary.
The week actually kicked off early on the night of Tuesday, February 28th when Myers student teachers gathered together enjoying activities for families that were Dr. Seuss themed.
Rather than holding a spirit week with dress down days, student teachers opted to celebrate reading throughout the month, with one special dress down day based on Dr. Seuss themes each week.
Starting the month of March, there will be dress up days for every Wednesday of March which include:
March 1st: Animal print
March 8th: Mismatch clothes
March 15th: Wear green
March 22nd: Crazy hair day
March 29th: Tourist day; Dress like you’re on vacation
There also is a reading fundraiser that begun as well.
