BOYS SOCCER STAYS HOT
The Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis co-op soccer team came out on top Monday against the Central Scarlet Dragons. The game was a blow-out, with a final score of 8-0.
Bellwood-Antis Sophomore Noah Gulvas led the way for the Golden Eagles, scoring one goal while also having two assists. Ned Smearman and Jake Baker were also key contributors. Smearman had 2 goals in the second half, and Baker tallied one goal and assist.
While this was an expected win for the Golden Eagles, every victory counts right now as the team tries to make a playoff run. Tyrone is now 9-6-1.
“Being able to play in the playoffs would be a great accomplishment for the team, and very exciting for everyone,” said senior right wing Jake Baker. “In the playoffs, we would continue to play with a lot of effort and energy, as well as working together as a team so we can find success.”
Tyrone will face off against Bald Eagle Area this Wednesday. This seems to be a pretty even matchup so we can expect an exiting game.
