The Lady Blue Devils advance into the Semifinals
On Friday, the Lady Blue Devils topped the Southern Huntingdon Lady Rockets at the Hollidaysburg Area Jr. High School to advance to the District 6-AA semifinals.
The Lady Blue Devils played a quick game and sent the Lady Rockets home early. The Lady Blue Devils came out on top with a 74-25 victory.
The win sets up a rivalry rematch on Wednesday. B-A will take on 19-4 Tyrone at Hollidaysburg Senior High at 6. The Lady Blue Devils beat Tyrone 65-47 the second game of the season in December.
The Lady Blue Devils’ record is now 23-1 after winning their 22nd straight game.
Sophomore Makayla Carles only knows how to play hard. She showed what she was made of on Friday, bombing in four triples to all scorers with 20 points.
Following up close behind was senior Kelly Leamer with 14 points.

“We try to take these games one at a time,” said Leamer. “We knew it was an elimination game, so we needed to focus on the game.”
Senior Ana Hollen helped out with 13 points. Sophomore Karson Swogger added 12 points and senior Anna Lynn added 10 more.
Lynn also managed to grab six rebounds. Senior Selena Damiano grabbed five rebounds along with Carles. Swogger and Ana Hollen grabbed four.
B-A led 49-15 at halftime, and then put the game away with a dominating third quarter, outscoring the Lady Rockets 21-0.
