As the winter season rolls in, so does the excitement of the Junior High Boys Basketball team. After weeks of practice, the team is ready to hit the court! The team has been working hard in practice, getting ready for their first big game. From dribbling drills to shooting drills, the athletes have been putting in the hours to make sure they’re ready to take on their opponents. Head Coach Jarrett Tanneyhill has been pushing the team to improve every day, focusing on teamwork, strategy, and building those essential basketball skills.
The team’s assistant coach Nevin Wood, is not only a coach, but also a teacher here at Bellwood-Antis! Coach Wood says his goals to help players succeed are by “pushing the players to work hard and have the players push each other to be the best they can possibly be.” He also says that he is not considering taking his coaching career to the next level yet. This is because he is still young and learning the basics of coaching.
As game day nears, everyone is focused on one goal: to play hard, play smart, and play together. Make sure to come out and support your BA Blue Devils!
