The Blue Devils traveled to Ebensburg Friday night to take on the Red Devils. B-A stuck with Central Cambria offensively for most of the game but ultimately fell short in the second half.
Bellwood-Antis fell with a final score of 41-38. This dropped the boys to 0-18 on the season.
The first quarter ended in a back and forth battle. The Red Devils went in to the second with a 13-11 advantage.
Central Cambria’s Grady Snyder led the offense with 15 points. JD Brouse followed with 11 of his own.
The Blue Devils found some rythym in the second quarter and registered 13 more. B-A was able to contain Central Cambria to just nine points and entered the half with a 24-22 lead.
B-A came slow out of halftime. They were limited to only five points and struggled to find momentum. The Red Devils tacked on nine more to bring the game to 31-29.
B-A’s Colin McClellan was the lone double digit scorer. McClellan picked up 10 in the loss.
“The effort and hustle we gave through all four quarters kept the game close,” junior Colin Gibbons said.
Central Cambria finished the game how they started. The Red Devils scored 10, and B-A fell just short with nine in the fourth quarter.
The boys now travel to Huntingdon on Wednesday where they will take on the Bearcats at 7:00. The Bearcats are currently 8-9 on the year.
