Lilly Hardman has committed to Penn Highlands Community College with a major in elementary education.
Penn Highlands is a community college located in Johnstown, with satellite sites all throughout Pennsylvania. Lilly said she chose Penn Highlands because it is close to home and cost-effective.
College life is quite different from high school, with it comes a lot of stress in being in a new place. Lilly believes however that she’ll adapt well to this new environment because she’s already taken summer classes there.
With her degree, she hopes to become an elementary teacher. She added that she would eventually love to become a principal.
She noted that Bellwood’s impacted her career with the “teachers’ unwavering commitment to giving us the best education possible…especially during COVID and other unforeseen circumstances.”
As for advice she would give to the underclassmen, Lily recommended taking advantage of all your resources.
“Take advantage of field trips and career fairs that expand your scope regarding your future,” she said.
