On Wednesday, three Bellwood-Antis athletes signed their letters of intent to play a sport at the collegiate level.
The district held a signing ceremony after school in the high school gymnasium.
This ceremony gave each athlete a time to celebrate their signings with family, coaches, and teammates. Each athlete had the opportunity to get pictures with the people who came to support them.
The following athletes were present to sign:
- Zach Gonzalez – Baseball – Mount Aloysius College
- Matt Berkowitz – Baseball – Mansfield University
- Holden Schreier – Track & Field – Saint Francis University

It was B-A’s second college signing ceremony in less than a month.
Gonzalez will continue his baseball career at Mount Aloysius College, while getting a degree in business administration. The Mount is located in Cresson, PA only about half an hour from Bellwood. The Mounties compete at the NCAA DIII level in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC).
“It was a great atmosphere, and I was happy to see my family and friends show their support,” Gonzalez said.
Berkowitz is attending Mansfield University to also earn a degree in business administration and continue his baseball career. Mansfield University is located near the top portion of the state by the PA/NY border in Mansfield, PA. The Mountaineers compete at the NCAA DII level in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
“It was great to be recognized and sign in front of everyone who has supported me over the years,” Berkowitz stated.
Schreier will run track at Saint Francis University and will be educated in the accelerated physician assistant program. SFU is located in Loretto, PA a little over thirty minutes from Bellwood. The Red Flash currently compete at the NCAA DI level till the 2026-27 academic year. They will then transition to the NCAA DIII level in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC).
“I was happy that I was able to see everyone who has supported me over the years be there as I signed for a new chapter in my life,” Schreier added.
Congratulations to these B-A athletes, and good luck at the next level!
