The Blue Devil football team looked solid in a crucial win last week, a 22-0 victory over the Bellefonte Red Raiders at Memorial Stadium.
This was Bellwood’s second shutout of the season, their first coming against Central 5 weeks ago.

“I thought we played a pretty good game against Bellefonte,” said B-A coach Nick Lovrich. “Anytime you play a school that is twice as big as you and you come out on top, you have to be happy. ”

The loss for the Raiders dropped their record 3-6. As for the Blue Devils, they are now just above .500 with a record of 5-4 as they prepare for their Laurel Highlands Week 10 crossover game.
The teams went scoreless in the first quarter, but only 7 seconds into the 2nd quarter junior Bradyn Partner connected with Jeffery Waite for a 37-yard touchdown pass and a 7-0 lead.
“It felt good taking advantage of my opportunities,” Jeffery Waite said.
A little later into the quarter, Bellwood had a drive that went down to the 1-yard line. Partner took it in himself on a quarterback sneak.
With 2:05 left in the half Bellwood was leading 14-0, and the score stayed the same going into the half.
Bellwood got its final touchdown early in the fourth quarter when Chase Plummer rushed 8 yard into the endzone for a score with 9:28 left in the contest.
Five minutes later, Plummer gave the Devils their first safety of the year to make it 22-0.
“We are starting to make some big plays on both sides of the ball, and that is helping us with positive results in the game,” Coach Lovrich said.
Next week, the Blue Devils will stay at home to play Forest Hills in their crossover with the LHAC West Division. The Rangers are 6-3, coming off a astonishing 73-47 loss against Bishop McCort.
