This past Saturday at the PIAA District 6 1A meet at the Indian Valley Elementary school, the Bellwood-Antis XC team sent 4 runners to states.
The runners were Seniors Martin Fatzinger and Bryce Hollenbach and Juniors Blake Pennington and Julie Kraft.
Hollenbach, who just in his first ever year of cross country, placed 8th with a time of 17:51, Fatzinger placed 16th with a time of 18:22 and was able to qualify for states.
“I was very proud of the team preformed and improved” said Fatzinger, “the experience was very rewarding after all of our hard work.”
The boys team overall missed out on states by just one spot, placing 3rd , but needing a top 2 seed to advance. Rounding out the top 7 for BA was Cameron Gallagher (18:39), Nolan Hewitt (19:35), Dom Halerz (19:58), Hunter Shura ( 20:10) and Luke Gurekovich (20:37).
On the girls side Kraft placed 6th with a time of 20:47 and Pennington placed 8th with a time of 21:05, both were good enough to place for states
This is back to back years for Pennington and Kraft making to states.
The top 7 for the girls were Peyton Hammond (23:46), Sara Kraft (24:34), Ava Franks ( 25:00) Chloe Stoltzfus (25:08) and Karley Dickinson (26:04)
Now on the JV side, Junior Jonny Bickel won the JV race with a time of 20:29, putting him on the stand. Junior Braylon Litzinger placed 3rd with a time of 20:37 earning himself a bronze medal and Sophomore Kirk Keen ran a time of 21:09, all walked away with there necks a little heavier.
