Claysburg outlasts B-A

The Jr. High team got their first win of the season.

The Bellwood-Antis wrestling team was edged in a closely contested matchup against the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs Tuesday, with a loss of 36-30. Bellwood got its lone fall from Hunter Curren as all their other wins came from forfeit.

Overall the match had six forfeits, 4 for Bellwood and 2 for Claysburg. Watters, Harper, Claar, and Nagle all won by forfeits for B-A. Lafferty and Defibaugh won by forfeits for CK. Claysburg also recorded 3 falls.

“I feel that we were out-conditioned on the mat and that we could’ve won some of those key matches,” said senior Nate Claar.

The loss drops the Blue Devils’ record to 0-1 on the year, their next match is Thursday at Central.

The Jr. High wrestling team won 61-16 against Claysburg.
