On Friday night the Bellwood-Antis boys’ basketball team hosted the Moshannon Valley Knights in a 74-50 victory.

In the first quarter the Knights kept the game close only allowing the Blue Devils to go into the second quarter with a three point lead.

In the second quarter B-A more than doubled their score as they put up 24 points to Moshannon Valley’s 8.

At halftime the Blue Devils lead 44-25, but their double digit scoring would continue into the third quarter when they scored 19 points.

Senior Noah D’Angelo said, “We struggled defensively in the first half and they (Moshannon Valley) were able to stay in the game.  In the second half we defended well and that allowed us to pull away.”

Though the Knights were able to keep up with the Blue Devils’ scoring in the third quarter, there was little hope that they could come back.

With one quarter left to play B-A was leading 63-42.

In the final quarter scoring slowed down drastically for both teams with B-A only scoring 9 and Moshannon Valley scoring 8.

With the win Bellwood-Antis improved to 14-2 overall, 9-1 in the league. Their next game is today when the travel to Claysburg to face the Bulldogs.
