Going Nuts on World Nutella Day
Freshmen Alivia Jacobs, Gwen Dougherty, and Jenna Barlett are in love with Nutella and ready to celebrate World Nutella Day.
Celebrating America’s 2nd favorite spreadable delight right behind the mighty man, peanut butter himself, is World Nutella Day!
Nutella has become so widely known and loved that a blogger named Sara Rosso founded World Nutella Day on February 5, 2007. Since then, Nutella lovers unite for one delicious day a year.
In 2015, Sara transferred World Nutella Day to the makers of this delicious treat, Ferrero, to make sure the holiday is continued for years to come. Chrissy Eckman the Chief Nutella Ambassador (because yes this is an actual occupation) is a 21 year old college junior who was born to lead World Nutella Day. She has even been called the “Nutella Queen.”
People go crazy and celebrate World Nutella Day by posting photos, recipes, poems, and messages on social media. Nutella has become a world phenomenon throughout the North America, South America, Australia, and Italy.
Junior Maddie Miller expressed her love for Nutella. She said, “It’s my favorite! I put it on basically everything, sometimes I just eat it out of the jar.”
Chrissy is on a mission for World Nutella Day 2016, to get the 7 billion people of the world to join the celebration. So bit back relax and enjoy a jar on the world’s favorite hazel nut spread on World Nutella Day!
