In spirit of opening week for Major League Baseball, Bellwood-Antis School District is celebrating with classic ballpark food being served at lunch on Friday, April 8.

Students have a choice of nachos, hamburgers, and of course a classic ballpark hot dog.

Food Service Director Ms. Taylor Danko credits other school district Food Service Directors for the idea.

“The idea to serve ballpark food at lunch came from other school districts who have also done this,” she said.

Students were encouraged to wear their favorite baseball jerseys and were even permitted to wear baseball hats to school.

Ms. Danko has plans for other lunch themes in the upcoming weeks.

“We plan on having a beach themed lunch in May and hopefully we can have other themes following that,” said Mrs. Danko.
