Sophie Damiano had a big game in the Lady Blue Devils 5-set win over Tyrone.

The Bellwood-Antis volleyball Team has recently celebrated a victory against Tyrone, winning three sets out of five.

Sophie Damiano, a senior on the team, had 12 kills, 4 blocks and 5 digs in the game.

She has been selected as the BluePrint’s Athlete of the Week.

I like making such close friends and always having room to improve.

Along with volley ball, Sophie also plays basketball, and runs track.

Sophie has been playing volleyball since she was in fifth grade and enjoys the sport.

“My older sisters played when I was younger so, I always wanted to also,” she said.

When it comes to personal goals, Sophie would like to make the “700 Kills Club” and possibly break the record. As for goals as a team, she hopes to go undefeated and win the ICC.

As a leader of the team, there are big situations that Sophie (among others) has to handle.

“I try to keep cool and trust my teammates,” she said.

Forming relationships and improving are very important to Sophie and her team.

“I like making such close friends and always having room to improve,” said Sophie.

To better herself, Sophie attends weekly open gyms, and plays AAU volleyball from January to May.
