A modest proposal for dictatorship

America is known for its freedom. We have a democracy and the power belongs to the people. However, with the way this current race for the White House is going, maybe the power shouldn’t be in the hands of the general public. Look at the candidates we are supporting. Donald Trump is childish and lacks a filter. Instead of focusing on real issues that America is faced with and what he would do about these as president during debates he insults his opponents and makes fun of their appearance. His thoughts on Hillary Clinton, “She’s gotten very loud and obnoxious.” He is a man who literally got famous from yelling at people and telling them they’re fired. He also has been very immature with social media, getting into fights with Fox News via twitter. Everyone has their well-known issues with Clinton that have been present since Bill was in office. Sweet, old Bernie who has everyone “feeling the bern” hates the shouting and the candidates making fun of each other, but let’s be blunt; he’s ancient and his chances of lasting longer than Harrison are slim. The candidates can’t agree and the country can’t either. So maybe, our democracy has overstayed its welcome.

It is time we go to where the grass is greener; dictatorship. The people clearly have no idea what they’re doing when it comes to government, so they shouldn’t have the choice. What we need instead of presidential candidates and presidential debates is a take charge kind of person. We need our own little Hitler. Everyone could agree on that one, but even if they didn’t that had no effect. This is what America needs; a dictator.

Clearly a dictatorship is the only logical solution. Simple changes such as candidates not putting on a show for the general public and the entire race being a popularity contest will do nothing. Honest candidates don’t work as well as someone who just takes over. And adding more parties couldn’t be a worse suggestion. Who would like having more than two options? Why would it make sense for parties to not be locked into one of two predefined buckets? On issues that the two parties agree on why should the people have another choice in how their lives will be run?

Clearly America has a problem and it can all be solved by wiping out the race for the White House and replacing it with a simple dictatorship.
