A modest bathroom proposal

With society’s growing acceptance of the LGBTQ community, one problem has been severely under handled: which bathroom do transgenders use? All humans must use the bathroom, and unfortunately, sometimes nature’s call comes while someone is outside the home. Most of us probably know about Caitlyn Jenner. What bathroom should she use? Female, because of her appearance? Or male, because anatomically speaking she is still a he? With a growing acceptance of these kinds of transitions, this will be a more prevalent issue in society. We must address the issue of which bathroom should be used by who, and only one solution is the right one.

We must get rid of gendered bathrooms completely. Getting rid of a differentiation means that everyone will use the same bathroom. This will completely get rid of the question of which bathroom. Trans people will be right among the males, who will be right among the females; a total pee for all. Under this system, you would simply walk into a bathroom. One side of the bathroom will have urinals, while the other will have closed stalls. No need to worry about someone assaulting you for being in the wrong bathroom, when there is no wrong bathroom.

Think about the other positives that will arise from this. Only one bathroom would have to be cleaned, meaning that as a society we can enjoy more sanitary conditions. One bigger bathroom would replace the two smaller bathrooms, meaning that there will be more stalls and less lines. All in all, this would benefit everyone.

Some people propose implementing a separate, small family bathroom, but why create three choices when one is so much easier? Additionally, some people would say we should do it based on legal gender. However, with our growing sexual spectrum acceptance, we must acknowledge the issue. I mean, do we really want listen to that silly medical community when they assign a gender at birth? No gender bathroom will solve the issue of gendered bathrooms.
