The “Someone Special Dance” held on Saturday, February 17, was a great success! The dance was sponsored by the National Junior Honors Society, and all of the funds raised from the dance (ticket sales, snack purchases, etc.) were donated to a local family to aid with medical bills. The idea of the “Someone Special Dance” was previously used in the elementary school, where students were encouraged to bring “someone special” with them, whether it be their father or their cousin. Due to the elementary school’s great success with this dance, the NJHS wanted to give it a try in the middle school to raise funds for the cause.

Fifth and sixth graders had their own dance from 6:00-7:30 p.m., and the seventh and eighth graders had their dance from 7:30-9:00 p.m. The tickets, all sold at the door, were $3 for students and $5 for adults. All of money earned was generously donated to the family. The NJHS hopes to be able to sponsor more fun events to help individuals in our community.

If you were able to make it, we hope you had a great time at the Someone Special Dance!
