It all started with a break up.
Jamilyn Daley went through something many other girls have been though. Break ups are hard, especially after 3 years.
The difference with Jami is, instead of letting it destroy her, she used the heartbreak as an inspiration to influence what will soon to be one of the greatest projects of her life.
“My boyfriend of three years and I broke up and it was a very bad break up and that’s what the idea is about,” Jami stated.“It’s about a girl who gets her heartbroken and then goes on a psychotic break.”
Jami Daley, a Bellwood-Antis high school senior, is on the path to success, beginning at Point Park in Pittsburgh. While double majoring in screen play writing, Jami also manages a job as an assistant director and attends high-school at Bellwood.
“It wasn’t screen writing originally that I wanted to do; it was directing,” she said. “But then I had this idea and I wrote it and people seemed to like it. I’ve always had the idea that in order to be a great director, you have to have great ideas.”
Her connections at Point Park, specifically her professor, made it possible for Jami to get in contact with a Netflix director and set up an upcoming meeting. The meeting will take place at the beginning of May, and for Jami this will be the first step to succeeding as a writer in the movie industry.
“My professor at Point Park knows the director and he told me about her and gave me her contact information,” she said.
There’s no guarantee that Jami’s screen play will be published, but it is definitely a step in the right direction.
When asked what she expects to come out of screen writing Jami said, “Publicity on how good I am and how far I’m going to go with my career. I’m determined to be one of the best, and I will.”
