Must Watch Comedies
May 23, 2018
As much as I love horror and slasher movies, I’m also into comedies. It is nice to just sit down and watch a comedy and laugh until you cry and your stomach hurts. Comedies can make you feel better if you are having a bad day and need a laugh. Here are some comedies that I think are definitely worth watching.\
Ace Ventura
This is a definite classic. Jim Carrey does an amazing job in this movie. Right from the beginning, he had you laughing and just keeps you going through the whole thing. He takes an interesting approach to this character by making him the craziest he possibly could. An animal detective trying to find a missing dolphin is definitely going to be a movie worth watching. You can tell that Jim had a blast playing him, and we had a blast watching him do it. My father went to see this when it was in theaters and said the whole place was continuously laughing, and I believe it. Making $107.2 million in the box office, I think it did pretty well. Even the second movie was funny. I’m not a fan of sequels, but it was good. Well done Jim, well done.
Charlie’s Angels
This is a great example of a women empowerment movie. Three female secret agents who struggle to juggle their regular and agent lives. With Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu playing the leads, this movie killed it. It had me laughing the whole time. It is one spin-off that I actually like, and there aren’t many. This is a movie that is good for women to hang out with their friends and watch a good comedy. Like Ace Ventura, the sequel wasn’t that bad, either. Making 259.1 million in the box office, and the first making 264.1 million. Way to go ladies. You did well.
Dumb and Dumber
Here is another classic Jim Carrey movie. Best friends go to Aspin to deliver a package to a woman who they both end up having a crush on. On top of that, they are not the brightest. The movie starts off with the two driving cars. One driving through traffic like an idiot and the other trying to get dogs to a lady on time and ends up getting the dogs covered in ketchup and mustard. Not a good thing. They end up getting chased by people without knowing it and end up messing everything up. The movie made 247.3 million in the box office. Jim and Jeff Daniels did an amazing job bringing these two dimwits to life. We applaud them.
