On Monday the Lady Blue Devils took to the road to take on Penns Manor at the Central Cambria gymnasium in Ebensburg, coming out on top 63-45 in the District 6 2A semifinals.

The B-A girls had just come off an OT win at home against Bishop McCort last Thursday night.

This game was not as nail biting as the OT win but still meant just as much.

Bellwood came into the game as the fourth seed while Penns Manor was ranked number one.

Penns Manor will now go on to play in a consolation game and Bellwood will go on to the District 6 championship.

B-A fought hard throughout the first quarter, exchanging buckets up and down the court until the Lady Blue Devils took control of the game in the second quarter.

The Lady Devils drilled seven 3-pointers in the first half, with senior Riley D’Angelo leading the shooting charge with three of the seven.

Alli Campbell led the Lady Devils in scoring with 23 points, while  Sakeria Harlson had 13. Emilie Leidig wasn’t far behind Harlson with 10.

B-A’s last D6 Championship win was in the 2013-2014 season with a win in the finals over Juniata.

The Lady Devils will now take on rival Juniata Valley in the District final on Thursday at Mount Aloysius at 6 p.m.

Throughout the season the girls took on Juniata Valley two times, breaking even with one win and one loss.

The Lady Devils beat Juniata Valley  by 24 at home, but when the Devils traveled to JV, the girls went home with a loss of their own, falling 63-52.

B-A is going into the game seeded number four and Juniata Valley is going in as the number three seed.

The D6 Championship game will be the tie-breaker for the two ICC teams, which both played in Hershey last March.
