Senior Dominic Tornatore will be participating in the All-State Band at the David C. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh on Saturday, April 6.

Tornatore will be playing the Alto Saxophone with the All-State Wind Ensemble.

“I’m very happy that all the hard work paid off,” said Tornatore. “I have no clue what to expect when I get there. This is all new to me.”

Band Director Mr. Patrick Sachse said, “Statistically, this makes him one of the top seventeen saxophonists in the state.”

Overall, Dominic has been extremely successful in band since freshman year.  He has performed in District band three times, Region band twice, and the Susquehanna Honors band twice.

“He has proven to be a hard worker, mature leader, and works hard with a private lesson instructor, Maureen Lightner, outside of band,” said Mr. Sachse.

Despite his success, Tornatore said the state band nomination caught him off guard.

“I never knew I would make it to states. I guess I just didn’t have that expectation.”
