The Lady Blue Devil basketball team played Williamsburg on Monday night coming off of a loss to their rival Tyrone.

The game ended in thrilling fashion as freshman Chloe Hammond hit a game winning 3-pointer with only 2 seconds left on the clock to lift the Lady Devils to a 51-48 victory.

“I was very excited,” Hammond said. “It was a fun experience, and I am just grateful for my team and coach for the opportunity.”

The Blue Pirates jumped out to a quick lead in the firstĀ  quarter, but the Lady Blue Devils were able to battle back. Sophomore Chelsea McCaulsky always seemed to have an answer, finishing the night with 22 points.

Alyson Partner comntinued her steady play with another double-figure performance, netting 10.

This was a huge win for the Lady Blue Devils, boosting their record to 3-2 and keeping them undefeated in ICC play at 3-0. Bellwood-Antis has a very young team, but they continue to win big games and improve.

“It was pretty big,” Hammond noted. “The win was a team effort, and I think it was a great game for everyone.”

The Lady Blue Devils will now focus on Portage. The girls play the Mustangs at home on Wednesday night looking for their first non-conference victory of the season.
