Coming off of a 24-7 season, the Bellwood-Antis girls basketball team looks to continue their dominant reign over the ICC.

The girls team in Bellwood has been known for how powerful they have been for the past couple of years, and they don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Although the team lost Jaidyn McCrakcken, who earned a spot on the Altoona Mirror’s All Star Team and is now playing at Penn State Altoona, some of the team’s best players are returning this season.

Returning players include leading point scorer Chelsea McCaulsky, leading rebounder and shot blocker Lydia Worthing, along with Aly Partner, Chloe Hammond, and Leigha Clapper. Hannah Waite, Olivia Hess, Lainey Quick, and Jenna Norton round out the letterwinners.

The girls made it all the way to the final four in states against Neshannock, where they were ultimately knocked out of contention. They also played in the District 6 2A semifinals and the ICC championship game, where they lost to Williamsburg.

McCaulsky is ready to get the season underway with the experienced team that they have this season. They are hungry for not only the ICC championship, but district and state championships.

“We have a strong veteran team this year and we are seeking to improve in this upcoming season. We are looking to win ICC, District, and State Championships. It will be hard but we are willing to work hard and challenge ourselves every single day in order to make these things happen” said Chelsea

The girls open up their season on December 7th at United at 7:30.
