The Bellwood-Antis Unified bocce team is hungry and ready to improve over their last year’s 2-4 record.

With the exception of last year’s senior Jayce Miller, the entire 2021 team will be returning for this year’s 2022 season.

Unified bocce is a PIAA sport run in conjunction with the Special Olympics. The team is composed of athletes eligible for Olympics and those who are not.

“I am excited about winning and very excited to play the Dragons,” said bocce captain Parker Lucas.

Head coach April Cramer said, “I am also very excited to go out and play new teams this year. It very heartwarming to see the community come out and support our boys.”

This season, the bocce team only has 4 games scheduled, including games against Altoona, Claysburg, Bedford, and Central.

Team members include Gaven Ridgway, Parker Lucas, Vincent Daughenbaugh, Tighe Eaken, Lexi Lovrich, Maddy Pulcinello, Jacob Miller, and Noah Larson.

The season opener is January 10, at 3 in Altoona.
