Lady Devils lose 54-48 to Portage; boys take loss to Mount Union

Last night the Lady Devils lost a close game to Portage in a 54-48 non-conference loss.

Portage was able to get an early lead going up 30-24 at the half. Bellwood came back scoring 19 points in the 3rd quarter but Portage took control of the 4th quarter to hand the Lady Devils their 3rd loss of the season. 

Senior Lydia Worthing led the team with 20 points and sophomore Leigha Clapper scored 8 points. 

The Lady Devils are now 8-3 but still with only one loss in the conference. They host Mount Union tonight. There is no JV game and varsity starts at 6. 

The Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils fell to the Mount Union Trojans last night on the road.

The Blue Devils started out with a 7-point deficit, but made a slight comeback for the remainder of the game. The score was within 6 points at the half. 

With Mount Union doubling up the Blue Devils in the third, the score rose to 56-40.

Sophomore Holden Schreier was the high scorer for the Blue Devils, finishing with 21 points. 

The boys will next take on Tussey Mountain at home on January 11.
