The Bellwood-Antis softball team got a special win yesterday at home in its victory over Williamsburg.

The Lady Devils hadn’t had a victory on the diamond since 2021, going winless for all of 2022. They were also 0-7 heading into yesterday’s game.

But B-A had the bats come alive against the Lady Pirates, pounding out 13 hits in a, 8-4 win.

Parker Martin, London McKee, Lainey Quick , and Hannah Waite accounted for 8 of B-A’s hits, with each player registering two. McKee and Quick also drove in a pair of runs, as did Rowan Kyle.

The Lady Devils were up 2-0 after 3 and broke the game open by scoring 3 in the both the fourth and sixth innings.

Ashlynn Snyder got the pitching victory, striking out 3 and allowing 6 hits.

BASEBALL TEAM STAYS HOT

After a 11-2 blowout yesterday against the Williamsburg Blue Pirates, the baseball team advanced to 5-2 on the season.

Yesterday was undoubtedly B-A’s best day of hitting so far this season. Leading this day of big hits was freshman Cam Swogger, who batted an astonishing .750 by going 3-for-4, which scored him 3 RBIs and 2 runs of his own.

Alongside Cam, his cousin Tanner Swogger, Josh Doriminy, and Matt Berkowitz all went 2-for-4 and added another 6 runs.

B-A added 3 stolen bases on the night courtesy of juniors Josh Dorminy and Zach Pier, and senior Nick Kost.

Chris Walls got the pitching victory to improve to 2-1. He fanned 9 batters and allowed just 2 earned runs while pitching a complete game.

BA will host the 4-2 West Branch Warriors tomorrow Thursday at 4:30.
